1066 Ride Classifications

1 Bike: Short, local, straight forward ride, using mostly single carriageway duration 1-2 hrs.
2 Bikes: Short, local ride, using some A & B roads. 2-3hrs.
3 Bikes: Non-local ride, using A & B roads and dual carriageways.
4 Bikes: Non-local ride, using Motorways, A roads and/or B roads, filtering may be required, may include short rides abroad and weekend trips.
5 Bikes: Long distance or heavy traffic / filtering anticipated, expect all types of roads & weather. Typically longer trips away or excursions to major cities, but can also include short rides abroad and weekend trips.

Please note – the above is a guide only to what you might expect by coming along on the ride concerned. 1* and 2* are suitable for all including those newer riders. 3* would be a ‘normal’ Sunday ride while 4* & 5* means you should think about what you are signing up to. You may not experience all aspects of a grading on any given ride and there will be occasions when a 3* ride would use a motorway.

YOU ARE DEEMED TO BE IN CONTROL OF AND RESPONSIBLE FOR, YOUR VEHICLE AND YOUR RIDING AT ALL TIMES IRRESPECTIVE OF ANY GUIDANCE OR INSTRUCTION FROM ANY MEMBER OF THE ROAD CREW. YOU MUST AT ALL TIMES RIDE WITHIN THE LAW AND OBEY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATIONS.
